When he was only nineteen years of age, working as a dental clinician, Dr. Anthony Ross was treated for a sinus infection with a medication that he was unawaringly allergic to. This resulted in a serious reaction that progressed to anaphylactic shock and then a stroke. Dr. Ross was then taken to the hospital, where the cause of the stroke was not recognized. A spinal tap was preformed to rule out spinal meningitis. Too much fluid was taken from the spinal cord and his systems began to shut down causing his heart to stop numerous times, calling for defibrillation. He went into a coma and shortly thereafter his family was instructed to prepare for his death. The Nursing supervisor made arrangements for Dr. Ross to be transported to the chiropractor and within seconds of his first adjustment he began his recovery. This experience and its result served as inspiration for his career path.
